1. In the room

2. Commission bid

3. Phone Bid
A member of staff will call in good time before your lot comes up. This service is limited to lots estimated £500 and above and is offered at the auctioneers discretion. Please contact the office to book your line at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.
4. Internet Bidding ‘Live’
GH Live is a secure online bidding platform provided by Gardiner Houlgate.
It also offers a host of other exciting features including, ‘automated bids’, sale updates, personal watch lists, speedy payment options, bid and invoice history all in one place.
Registration at www.bid.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk once your account has been created you will be able to login and register to bid in any of our specialist auctions.
‘Automated Absentee’ Bids - Important Notice
For each auction we offer two ‘live’ computer bidding platforms, each offering the facility for clients to leave their ‘automated absentee’ bids prior to the auction if you are unable to watch and bid live.
There may be an occasion where the auctioneer will receive two identical ‘automated absentee’ bids from each of the platforms on the same lot, and can only accept one of them. In this situation the auctioneer will use his discretion when making his final decision of which bid to accept, taking all other bids into consideration at the point of sale.
Gardiner Houlgate do apologise for any disappointment caused should this situation occur, and your bid has been unsuccessful even though the sold price may match your maximum bid. We endeavour to avoid such a situation but it can happen on the rare occasion when leaving your bids via this method.
Other bidding methods are available and we are always pleased to offer advice.
An additional premium of 2.5% will be levied for using this service.
The-Saleroom.com bidding platform is also available for all of the sales. For clients using this platform an additional premium of 4.95% will be charged.
Charges subject to VAT @ 20%
