The final image was subsequently produced as a limited edition run, with an edition of fifty signed and numbered prints Ink Icon was a collaborative venture between photographer Gered Mankowitz and art director David Costa of Wherefore Art?, established to reinterpret and celebrate some of the most iconic images from Mankowitz's archive, particularly those featuring The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix. The project produced a series of limited-edition silkscreen prints, each employing distinctive artistic treatments and printing techniques to create new interpretations of these well-known photographs
