2000 Gibson Custom Mickey Baker Les Paul Custom electric guitar, made in USA; Body: ebony finish; Neck: good; Fretboard: ebony; Frets: mild tarnishing; Electrics: working; Hardware: generally good, some tarnishing to pickguard bracket and other minor gold plating loss; Case: original hard case and papers; Weight: 4.32kg; Overall condition: very good *This rare Les Paul comes from a very limited run of only twenty-five Mickey Baker tribute models. After an initial batch of around five guitars produced for the Japanese market, only two were built in 2000 for the U.S., one for Rudy’s Music in New York and another for Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center. The original purchaser of this guitar ordered it unseen from Chuck Levin’s. However, upon delivery, it arrived marked and damaged. It was returned to Gibson, and a replacement was issued, this guitar, built as part of a short run of three-pickup 1957 Les Paul Customs. Included with the guitar is a complete list of all Mickey Baker models produced between 2000 and 2003 (the final year of production), showing serial numbers and dealer destinations, compiled from Gibson Custom Shop records back when you could still call them directly!
